Power Posing Affects How You Feel

Today I want you to experience what different body positions feel like. Please stand up and let’s do these together. I invite you to do so because the body, mind, and emotions are all connected; when you choose to stand or sit in different positions, you will feel different. We’ve already talked a bit about confidence and power posing, and now I want you to feel what it feels like.

Put your feet shoulder-width apart, put your hands on your hips, bring your shoulders down, and bring your chest up. Breathe in and out through your nose, and allow your abdomen to expand and contract with each breath. Close your eyes for ten seconds and notice how you feel.

Power Posting Body Language

Now close your body, raise your shoulders up, tilt your head down, cross your arms in front of you, and cross your legs if possible. Close your eyes for ten seconds and notice how you feel.

Low Power Body Language

If you want to feel powerful, confident, and energetic, then stand with high-power body language. Use this pose to prepare for meetings, networking, presentations, and dates.

Power Posting Body Language

When you are in the meeting, networking, presenting, or on your date, then sit or stand in confident poses without looking overbearing. Put your weight on one leg, keep your shoulders down and your chest up, and avoid blocking your body. Try it now! Close your eyes for ten seconds and notice how you feel.

Medium Power Body Language

If you stand using a confident stance, you will believe that you’re confident, you will feel confident, and you will look confident.
