Body Language Tips for Video Chats

So many people work remotely or live far from family and rely on video chat to build and maintain connection. Keeping your hands visible is crucial for building trust (they are called our “trust indicators”) and that includes while you’re on video chat. If you are too close to the camera, the viewer can’t see your hands when you gesture and they can’t fully relax and trust you. I suggest that you back your camera up enough that the viewer can see your hands and you can get your point across more easily as well as build trust and rapport.
